I have a brand new SBR, based on a POF-5.
What I'd like to know is if there are any ammunition restrictions with the MP-5 or if I need to keep anything in mind with mine since it's a POF-5 clone.

I plan on feeding it mostly 124gr FMJ.  But I happen to have about 2000 rounds each of 147gr and 158gr FMJ on hand and want to know if they're safe to run through this gun?

I run mostly 147gr suppressed thru my mp5. very quiet. the 124g, not so much. the 115g. loud. all are very fun.

Ok, so no 158gr.

Any trouble with aluminum or steel cases?  I normally steer clear of those but just in case.

I have run 1000's of rounds of Fiocchi subsonic 158gr through my gun with no problems.  I am guessing the 158 referenced here as a no-go is the IMI type.

Have you found rhe 158 any quieter than the 147 or why did you choose the 158 over the 147?

Exactly my thinking as well. That stuff is like 158 +P. Simply changing to 158 which comes with a reduced powder load in standard pressure loadings, I just don't see that being harder on the system. That being said, I have tested 147 and 158 from a pistol host and there really wasn't a noticeable difference to me. So once AAC gets their stuff together and sends me my triad adapter I intend to just shoot Speer 147 TMJ from my clone. Reason for this is no lead in the can or in any blowback.  Can be had reasonably priced from SG.

I put about 1500 rounds of Fiocchi 158gr through my mp5k-pdw with DLO trigger frame. It ran great. Jim Schatz posted on HK Pro that shooting ANY bullet over 147gr is not advised. I stopped using it in my K and it is now used only in my fullsize vector UZI and suppressed beretta 92fs. Maybe it will be fine, but I don't care to push my luck in my all German SP89 converted to mp5k-pdw with factory pdw Navy barrel. In a clone I would probably keep shooting it.
