Now my MP5 is complete. Until I can afford a SEAR later in life.

This is one of the ones that DJ Getz was selling at cost (Special Weapons). I did fubar the gun a bit removing the stupid pinned Faux suppressor.

Plans for the gun include a refinish in RAL 8000 to be different.

You said MP5, but it looks more like an MP5K reverse stretch. I'm I right ?

What did you FUBAR? Any pics? How would you do it differently next time?

I would have cut the fake suppressor on two sides and tried to split it. I would have used more heat. I was trying to do it in a time constraint which I shouldn't have.

I have some pics. Most of it is hidden under the 3 lug mount. I did gouge the receiver in a small place with the vice. I'm going to fill that part in and then refinish.

Oh well. It's going to be a shooter anyway.

I have a Getz reverse that still has the pinned extension on there.

I got my fake can off (after getting my stamp) with a dremel and rubber mallet. I dremeled around the pin until i could grab it with pliers and pull it free. Then I started pulling on the can by hand. It would wiggle but not come free. I held it under my arm and whacked it with a rubber mallet until it came loose.

Checked to make sure barrel was still aligned with dowel rod and checked bolt gap. Everything was GTG.
