Sarco was putting out a pretty good replica of these type scopes.

Open the caps and look inside.  You'll know if it's real pretty fast

The top section were your eye looks through it should have military markings.

Look at Airsoft replica's

I too do  not think this is a real Hensoldt Z24.  It seems to have knurled turret caps rather than the slotted caps with twin screws for setting the mechanical zero.  Also doesn't have the Hensoldt/Wetzlar printing on top of the scope ahead of the eyepiece.  So I vote for clone.  Here is a link to mg42.net's page on Hensoldt scopes.  Compare the pictures from this thread to the pictures on that website page.

I had a z24.  That looks like a cheap Chinese knockoff.

Deleted.  Never mind.  Misunderstood the intent of the last two posts.

I have a Fero Z24 and agree that isn't one.  According to MG42.com all, non-refinished Henzolt scopes will have the factory markings on the top.  Another pretty good clue would be; if id didn't cost $600.00 plus it's probably not real.  Also the Z24 comes with rubber end caps which you fold inside out to hold open.  The markings to zero the scope are a "T" and an "H".  Like an earlier poster said there are two small screws you loosen to zero the scope while the outside ring stays on 1, or 0 for windage.

It is definitely a fake. The turrets are wrong.

Tapco made a clone called the T-28 back in 2001-2003 era. They also made a copy of the mount. Not sure what the markings were but it could be one. They had the illumination I know.
