I just want to see some 308 models with the paddle mag release View Quote You and me both! If they can put one on the PTR-32, why can't they put one from the factory on a PTR-91? Good God it is so irritating. I'd have PTRs practically spilling out of every room in the house by now if they'd done that. Probably though we'll see more Texas FDE hog hunting rifles before we ever see something like a factory paddle mag release on a PTR-91 |

Do you have pictures of PTR-32K PDW with 11 inch barrel and HK33 Style wide hand guard?
|
|
[#11]
16" barrel no? Looks shorter than my first gen. Nice. Full length guns look great with the 16 vs 18 inch barrels.
|
|
[#13]
I could be wrong, but I believe that is a G3 cocking tube assembly, which is is longer than a 33 cocking tube assembly. With both models using 16" barrels, the longer G3 cocking tube makes the 16" barrel appear shorter.

I just got a shipping confirmation for my PTR 32 KFR, it should be here on Tuesday! Hopefully my full auto carrier I ordered from HKparts will arrive the same time so I can try it out with my sear.

|
[#20]
I just put an order in for the rifle version, never really had any interest in SBRs or pistol sized guns with intermediate or full size cartridges.. but that's another debate.
My interest is mostly because of magazine and ammo interchangeability so I will be interested to see just how well the magazines interchange and function considering I have about 300+ of them; metal, plastic, metal/plastic, Bakelite, etc.. I'm very happy with my PTR-91 GI after I made a few modifications and replaced some bits (purely for cosmetics) so I'm willing to go ahead and be a guinea pig for teething problems, but this being gen 2, hopefully that won't be an issue! |

From a PTR nub, what’s the difference between the gen1 and gen2 rifles?
|
|
[#24]
Gen 2 updates
accept a wider variety of AK 47 mags as the pistol stabilizing brace rear and also the optical rail on top along with the MP 5 style front handguard |
|
[#25]
I had read that the LOP on that pistol with the brace is 15inches!
Could you confirm ? |
|
[#26]
The LOP is 16 on mine but I have a bit longer tube on. You could make it shorter but its fine for me...

Shipping tracking says my 32 KFR will be here tomorrow, on Friday. Unfortunately I will be out of town on business Friday through Sunday.
My plan is to take the firearm out and do a standard break-in as detailed in the PTR manual with the factory magazine on the same day I receive it. After that, assuming everything goes good, I'm going to take a wide variety of magazines out and load them with 10 rounds each and do a rapid-fire fit-and-function test. I'll try to grab 10 or so euro magazines, some 30/40 round Circle 10s, tapcos/promags, Bulgarian 40 round "bullet magazines", Hungarian 20 round tankers, and even some 5/10 round Chinese magazines. I think my bakelites are in deep storage so I probably won't have them. I'm not sure why Atlantic says the Yugo Bolt hold open magazines won't work, other than the follower may interfere with the bolt going forward on the last round. Obviously it won't function as a BHO magazine but I don't see why it wouldn't work with round 1 through 29 without issue.. maybe the feed lips are shaped more differently than I remember. I only have steel Romanian and Chinese drums which won't fit without some milling on the receiver as I understand, so I won't be using any of those. I also plan to video it, but that may or may not happen. Either way I'll get back with a full report on Monday or Tuesday.. assuming the weather cooperates. |

We had great success with 90% of the AK mags we tried not sure why but the Yugo & Croatian Bolt Hold Open mags just would not work on a reliable basis .
|
|
[#31]
It's not that I don't believe you Atlantic, I just don't understand why it makes a difference in this instance. (But that's nothing new for me! )
I managed to dig out a Yugo BHO magazine and took a set of calipers to it and two other standard euro steel magazines.. I couldn't find any appreciable difference in any of the measurements of the locking areas or the external parts of the feed lips.. I will say that the Yugo magazine is made of noticeably thicker stampings, perhaps the culprit is less volume inside the magazine head.. in that case I'd expect it to affect AKs too, but there again it may be a difference in bolt shape and tolerances. If I was feeling more adventurous I'd pull the springs out of five of each type of magazine and measure them to see if perhaps the Yugo uses a stronger/longer spring to compensate for the follower sitting up higher in the magazine.. but that's another trip to the garage and have you seen my garage lately?! It's horrible out there.. Either way, I'll add the Yugo magazine to the stack that I'll be testing. These are just my musings and aren't worth anything until I get some trigger time behind the gun itself! I'm afraid I don't have any Croatians (or 40 round euro steel for that matter).. I keep putting those off for "later". |

[#32]
I agree with you , It should logically work but neither did , We really did not have time to further investigate why but we were happy to see that most of the mags we tested worked very well .
WMTX91 have you already ordered a 32 ? |

The 32P will not have a full auto carrier in them so you will need to add that in order to use them as a sear pack host . In the future we may be offering a full auto bolt upgrade option. View Quote if you get the "51 auto carrier" upgrade on checkout wont it come with a f/a carrier???? |
