Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Hk-416 markings?

Are the markings on the sides of the receiver of the hk416 etched deep? Specifically the right side where it says Heckler and Koch Made in Germany etc.

Looking at buying one that is a little used and refinishing it but I'm concerned if I do, that those areas will be unreadable if there not etched in the receiver with a little depth to them.

The ones we worked on at HK armorers school had good depth. They have to be a minimum depth for ATF. Could not tell you the exact depth, but there is a number.

The minimum depth for BATFE required markings is 0.003". Add to this a 1/16" minimum character height for the s/n.
