I found an A17 oops, an A15 a while back but then found out that I needed like two or three other parts to make it work with the Surefire forend and it rubs on my Gemtech Multimount but you can get it on there. Let me know if you want to try an A15 cheap but you would still need to find the other parts.

Oops...I meant the A15 is what I found, sorry about that
I forget which models Surefire told me I needed. When i first called them they said I need a P90 bulb as the hand guard and adapter houses two batteries and then the light body houses another one. I ordered the bulb in and it didn't work so i called surefire again. This time they told me that I needed another head assembly to make it run as a 9 volt system or some other part to make it work as a 6 volt. The parts are hard to find now and I figured at this point I would cut my losses. Maybe try and call Surefire and see what they tell you. |

Why don't you try one of the one-cell, 3V, LED conversion heads? It is both shorter and the head is much smaller in diameter.

I would love to try it, but even surefire didnt know. I need to wait for my can to come in to take measurements, and its kind of expensive to just guess. Anyone know?

This one works with SWR QD3K and SWR Trident , both mounted using 3 lug adapter
Bottom image is the SWR Trident mounted on factory 3 lug MP5 barrel with A17 offset light adapter. |

Interesting. SWR must have changed its mounts at some point, because mine is much thicker. My mount is about the same diameter as the supressor body. Mine was purchased in 2009. |

I suppose thats possible in regards to change, I think I picked up that 3 lug adapter a bit before 2009.
It was when there was a big scare that ATF was going to classify the adapters as suppressors, whenever that was. |

Got an A15 in from a police supply. About 48. It has a small cut out in the arm when at the 3oclock position, is recessed out for a suppressor. Perfect....for now....if I find an A17 I will likely replace. Pics soon.

So what's the difference between the 17 and the 15?

If I understand correct.
A15 rotates and is not locked unless you buy a little adapter that replaces the dust cap, and you can secure w/ 2 screws A16 same as above, but w/ 2 heads (Spot for laser, spot for light) A17 single tube adapter that can lock down into position. |

So did you get your light to actualy work with the A15?
Mine is sitting doing nothing as the head from my 628 doesn't work with it and I was told by Surefire I needed some other parts which are now impossible to find. |

I have a TNVC bulb I won here on ARcom, and took it out of my 6P Led. My original LED bulb is in my regular Surefire forarm (1 dedicated to each set up). The bulb i think is like 220 lumen led and rated for both the 6v and 9v. But one day I want to get NV. and I will put a dual head (which I want to get), A16 I think, STD 9V bulb and surefire IR filter for it.

Can one of you guys with the Surefire 628 foreend give me a measurement from the centerline of the push pin where it attaches to the receiver to the top of the cylinder where the light housing exits the plastic gaurd?
I'm trying to determine if I need an offset for the 628 when used with my MP-5N and Gemtech Raptor can. The can is pretty narrow. |

My SWR has the same OD 1.37 inches, and it won't work without it. |
