Sorry, but trying to make as informed a decision before I pull the trigger. It's awesome with a Griffin or Rugged 3-lug mount. It's completely equal in sound to my Octane .45 at the shooter's ear. Bystanders say the Octane .45 is very slightly quieter to their ear. Haven't really tried different ammo. It's my favorite silencer, not to mention it's THE can to use on an MP5K-PDW. |

Ugh, every time I see a picture of an omega 9K on a MP5K, I keep regretting that I ordered an Octane45 as my first centerfire pistol can. I told myself I wasn't going to add any more stamps to my queue until I got one back, but you guys make this hard.

Posted over in the MK18 thread... some pretty sick shots of a 416 10 inch and 14.5 inch...
Sidenote, looks like the guy on the left is running a laurue LT101 riser for his XPS3 and magnifier... until now ive only seen the Wilcox riser set ups... both raise the optics 5/8 of an inch as I understand it... Maybe Augee can chime in with how he likes the Wilcox... Also, Augee, if you read this, do you think running an EXPS3 on top of a 5/8 inch riser would be ridiculously high? I know the XPS height with a 5/8 inch riser is a sweet spot for most... Thanks! Attached File Attached File |

Wilcox riser comes in both .410" and 5/8" heights, but the .410" is more common.
EXPS on a 5/8" riser is pretty high on an HK, though during the brief time I used one like that, I liked it--but then again, I actually like red dots on carry handles, too, I like the tall sights, but a little lower will give you a little more contact while still keeping your head (and head-mounted kit) clear, letting you use NODs, and maintaining good situational awareness. It's pretty perfect on a standard AR upper, though, the EXPS is about .26"-7mm taller than the XPS, HK receiver is between 1/4-3/8" taller than an AR upper. ~Augee |
