Can anyone point me in a good direction to better understand the value and setup of a FN FAL heavy barrel on a Coonan LAR 3 upper? Is this a pieced together rifle, is it common or unique?

if it's on a Coonan, it's a parts kit build. We will need pics to know exactly which configuration you are talking about though.

ANY heavy barrel build is worth a decent amount. If it's a Belgian-pattern HB setup, it's a bit of a unicorn. Izzy HB kits were FAR more common.
