How does one figure out whether a receiver is cast or forged?

DS serial number is forged

DSA serial number below and including DSA28388 is forged, anything higher is cast.

Spring of 2014 DSA ran a type 2 receiver for a wildlife contract that is supposed to be forged.

DSA29k serial range. About as clear as mud. Good luck
