just see if you can find a complete fixed lower. then add a rat tail bolt carrier and top cover and you are good.

I'd really prefer an Aluminum lower as I'd like to save some weight, but I may go that route as it's a win for both of us!
I will swap the lowers on my two FAL and see how it feels with the steel lower. |

Traded with a guy on FAL Files. Got a virtually new Aluminum lower, EXACTLY what I wanted. between removing the bipod, and the aluminum lower, my rifle lost a pound!

Wow, I have been thinking about switching to a fixed stock FAL as well and thinking about selling my Para (FN) lower and extreme duty top cover, then I see this post. I guess I would also have to buy a new bolt carrier and top cover, sucks!

You can just slap a fixed stock lower onto any para rifle. There's no need to change the bolt carrier and top cover.

You can just slap a fixed stock lower onto any para rifle. There's no need to change the bolt carrier and top cover. This is true, the para recoil assembly and bolt carrier will work just fine with a regular lower. I chose not to go that route since I was looking to trade, it just made the most the most sense to do it that way. Also, I was trying to shave weight. |
