THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT So far as the owner knows it's a DSA built gun but I'd like to know what I'm getting into. He's sent photos and has been communicative so let me know what to ask and look for. Or please send me where the info is. Thanks in advance! |

Google "two rods barrel check" to verify that the barrel is timed correctly.

PM or email me the serial number if you have it and I can tell when and how it left the factory.
Thanks, Mike |

Pics
The little bit of wear doesn't bother me. I really like the way this rifle looks... I just want to know what I am getting in to. I don't have FAL experience like I do with other rifle types, and wanted to come where people who know what they're talking about hang. |

That's the way it would have looked when it left the factory. How many mags is it coming with?
Thanks, Mike |

The only thing about that rifle that gives me pause is the possibility that it has a U.S. made bolt. DSA put out quite a few brittle bolts that snapped right around the extractor hole. I don't remember any reports of damage to the rifle beyond the bolt, and DSA has been pretty good about making it right when it happens.
If you buy this rifle, have the head space checked. Don't assume that DSA got it right. Improper head space doesn't happen often with DSA, but it does happen. |

Because of the date of manufacture of the rifle it is VERY unlikely that the bolt is suspect. Also the amount of wear on the scope mount tells me that the rifle has been shot, more than just a magazine or two. While I will admit we had an issue with bolts at one time and have long since corrected the problem, if you had an "issue" bolt you almost always found out in less than 50 rounds.
However, as always we stand behind what we make and will take care of it if need be Thanks, Mike |

Does it have an aluminum lower receiver, i.e. SA58?
From DSA's website.... Because of our proactive decision in this matter DSA, Inc., strongly recommends all customers with SA58 rifles purchased between the dates of July 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010 immediately return your SA58 rifle for a factory retrofit. DO NOT LOAD OR FIRE YOUR SA58 RIFLE UNTIL INSPECTED AND CERTIFIED SAFE BY OUR FACTORY. Furthermore, if you purchased from DSA, Inc., an aluminum LOWER TRIGGER HOUSING for the manufacture or assembly of your own FAL rifle between the dates of July 1, 2008 to May 31, 2010, you SHOULD NOT LOAD OR FIRE this rifle or firearm and IMMEDIATELY return the LOWER TRIGGER HOUSING for inspection and possible replacement at no charge to you. |

I have that rifle's exact twin. I bought mine used from a gun buddy about 4-5yrs ago. It has a numbered STG bolt/carrier built with a non-matching number STG kit. It's been a good shooter and I like the 18" bbl length a lot.
ETA- the rifle pictured above has an STG gas plug w/lever that's a nice part and somebody put on an Israeli pattern mag release. |

What are you getting out of it accuracy wise? |

Are new production DSA magazines worth a poop?
