THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Is there some place that lists all of the variants and how to identify them? I'm trading out some labor to pick one up and would like to know what it is that I'm getting.

I've registered on the FAL Files site but for some reason, can't post there. If anyone can contact a moderator, I'd be grateful. I am Nu2FAL over there.

is there any way possible to get a picture, or pictures? The more detailed the better.

You can start by searching these key words:

L1A1
Belgian FAL
Austrian FAL
Israeli FAL
Australian FAL
STG58
G1 FAL

I'm sure there's more, and I may have stated the same thing twice, but there are a lot of variants out there that can be had.

If you want to learn ALL that there is on the historical FAL then you need to check out this and this

Between those two books you will learn everything about the FAL rifle.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks for the replies.

I've been doing a ton of reading and sometimes more confused than when i started. Type 1, type 2, type 3, inch, metric? Much to learn.

Still can't figure out why I can't post on the FAL Files board.

About the only difference between 1 and 2 is they left extra metal to take care of cracks showing up after sustained full auto fire. Type 3 they cut back on machining to save money.

Here is a photo of all 3. Type 2 on top, type 3 in the middle, type 1 on bottom,.

My Israeli light-barrel, built from a 1967-dated kit and an Entreprise Arms "Israel Match" Type 1 receiver.

Same rifle but with different furniture, masquerading as a Belgian M2, except for the Inch pattern wood handguards.
