Those ban-era integral brakes look pretty good... and are hella efficient. Beautiful gun. I'm building off one of those barrels now.

Here's my Australian L1A1 built on an Entreprise receiver.

Current plans are to remove the muzzle brake and replace it with a correct flash hider, remove the Crapco scope mount, reattach the carry handle, and get some Ironwood Designs furniture.

Been sidetracked with ARs for years but finally picked up one of my early dream rifles. It's a DSA 21" Standard and I absolutely love it. First FAL for me.

Sold my Rockola M14F and bought back a FAL we had sold to one of my co-workers.

She is a DSA built DSA/Imbel with Imbel non-bipod cut barrel and a decent set on non-bipod cut handgards.

Might install a wood stock later to give her that "African R1" look.

Over the years I have tried to embrace the M14 pattern rifles but I just prefer the FAL.

FALs just fit me better.

Most South African and Rhodesian R1's had the synthetic stock, especially as the wood stocks were replaced. If you have monkey arms like me, the SA long buttstock is a Godsend. I commented on it on the Files, but that's one great looking FAL.

Almost a spittin' image of mine EMS.   I wish I could find some nice NBC handguards like that.

New to FAL rifles....here is my first.

DSA Grayslake upper ( DS 11xxx ) and I believe it is an STG58 lower ( 58xxx ).  Ihave found one part that has been swapped so far...the hammer

stg58/dsa all matching numbers except the trigger/hammer is FAUSA, very handy gun took the 1lb plus bipod off and it is night and day diff!!!!!!
tossing around the idea of cutting the barrel down to 16" or 18" and putting a muzzle brake...
aslo my Springfield M1A bush rifle 18", all military parts also

Some time back I posted this pic, I can't find it so its time to repost...

$179 STG58 Austrian parts kit from Harlan at FedArms on DSA receiver built by Rich Saunders (Century Gun Works) back in 2000...

And an FN FAL 50.00 from my bro back in the 80s.

I really like the wood stock with rubber pad on the StG. The 50.00 is just gorgeous.

Did you have your FAL barrel shortened?

I really need a short-barrel FAL in my life. I have enough spare parts to get a good start on one.

Heh it started off pretty nice

The key is to spray it with krylon 18 hours before going shooting

That way you ruin your clothes and have painty hands the rest of the day .

But your battle rifle(well battle pistol in this case) has a nice battle worn look to it

My para, built from a new in the wrap Imbel Para rifle that was demilled.  The bolt, carrier, top cover, barrel, charging handle, combo device, locking shoulder, and springs are all off a factory NIB Imbel Para.
Built on a DSA receiver, with a DSA para lower that I picked up from DSA at Knob Creek along with DSA 922 parts.

Mission accomplished!

After patiently waiting 5 long months, I received my FAL (Imbel/Imbel) back from Mark at Arizona Response Systems. To say that I am pleased is a gross understatement. His work is first rate and worth every penny!

Cartel: That is the simple, refined elegance that an FAL should be. Very nice.
