Century L1A1 Nothing special, but I got it for a song $900 with 11 full mags and a bunch of random shit. Needs a bit of work (new ths, bolt catch, and charging handle) then I'm sending it off to adco to be cut to 18" and threaded. After that I'll probably toss on a cheap 1-4 and camo it. |

If it's a good barrel like a Steyr or FN then don't cut it down, no matter what the rest of the parts are like. I'm sure someone here or on the FAL Files will trade you a shorty if that's what you want, in order to keep a good barrel from being chopped up.

I apologize for subjecting you guys to my terrible attempt at photography. This is my project FAL, I've had it a few years and still haven't got it 100%. The muzzle device is just slid on the barrel; the end of the barrel was mutilated with a hacksaw, then covered up with a weld-on ban era muzzle brake. When I get the money, I'm going to trim the last 3/4th an inch off, and get a smith to pin the STG FS on it. Been debating for months whether to convert it to a Para-FAL, or save the $400 and buy a LMT MWS. It's a cool gun, but I'm worried it's worth dropping more money on it, beyond getting it functional. It is an R1A1 marked, non near logo Imbel receiver.

Hey all, just wanted to share my new acquisition.
I guess it's an OSW in "pistol" configuration, until it's SBR'ed (I guess the closet engraver to me is DSA, so it's going back to them.) +Next to my DSA STG 16" 
+ Wearing my massive HTA can they are almost the same length, due to YHM only making their FAL QD in the 3+inch variety for some reason :facepalm: Fortunately, DSA is now threading most things in 5/8 ! Huge win for us non-traditionalist! 
+Speaking of non-traditional, once SBR'ed it will be wearing one of Lear70 ACR stock adapter and maybe an older style ERGO grip (the kind with the rest), if I can track someone down willing to separate with one for a fair price. 
+ Not sure if it clear in the photo, but it looks like the bolt is done in stainless or NP3 treatment, does anybody know of DSA doing this in newer builds?

How about a video? As stated in the description, YES I know his safety glasses are on his hat and not on his face. I didn't notice until it was too late. I will keep on him about it.
The rifle is an Imbel parts kit on an Imbel gear logo receiver. Just got it done late summer. We are enjoying it quite a lot.
