How would one go about obtaining a BM59 receiver?

Modifying a real Garand receiver?

Any cast Springfield Inc recievers out there?

Any other modern recievers?

Use the search function.

Or read one of the many BM59 threads on this first page.

There are more BM59 options out there now than ever.

James River Armory makes a new receiver for the BM59. I think they are only producing complete rifles for Classic Firearms at this time.

Correct, at least from what they told me almost a year after my receiver from their pre-order was promised.

Machining / modding a USGI Garand receiver (like Beretta did) will yield a nice rifle.

If you haven't found one yet Sarco has bare receivers. $495.

James River. They have blems(with a hole under where the rear sight cover will go) and what looks to be non-blems for the same price, with special instructions for ordering. Scroll to the bottom.
Sarco/BM59

ETA-looks like the non-blems are modified Garand receivers. I'm really eying the E kits lately. My credit card is trembling in fear.

CMP Armory in NC can do the mods to a Garand receiver and build the kit.

Based on my recent experience I'm no fan of James River products.

Rifle looks great. I really like it.

Took it apart and attempted to reassemble. When I tried to put the trigger group back in, I can't make it fit because the bottom legs of the receiver are getting impinged enough to preclude the trigger guard lugs from traveling into the locking channels.

I reassembled the rifle without the stock and it fits perfectly.

I think the receiver is weak, but JRA has been extremely unresponsive,  except for offering the advice to hit it with a rubber mallet "because it's not a Garand."

I got one from SARCO a few months back on one of JRA's BM59 receivers, only bitch is that the recoil spring was broken inside the op rod, emailed JRA and they said SARCO was responsible
for the replacement, wasn't in the mood for "not me, him" bullshit so I ordered a new one. One positive thing was that SARCO had a ton of magazines for cheap so I bought 10.

The JR receivers are cast, not forged. I would modify an M1 Receiver.
