I like the aimpoint style optics, beefy as heck, I'd really like to stick with a red dot, but open to options, what mount should I get? God bless.

I also like Aimpoint RDS, Comp M4 & T-1 in particular. I feel the 2 MOA versions are better suited to the SOCOM's abilities.

The trick is to mount it as low as possible. The UltiMAK M8, and lighter M14.ca SHG allow you to mount the RDS as low as possible.

Here is the SHG on a SOCOM length M14 with a T-1. It will co-witness the iron sights.
