I just bought an M1 and am curious what if any commercial loads are ok to fire in it?

Hornady makes some nice match ammo specifically for the M1. It is available from the CMP at a very reasonable cost (for match ammo).

You will both it and some cheaper stuff here: http://estore.odcmp.com/store/catalog/catalog.aspx?pg=catalogList&cat=AMC

As stated you can get a adjustable gas plug or shoot ammo made for the Garand, my suggestion would be order ammo from the CMP and then keep brass for reloading, that's what I did then I processed the brass and loaded it up with 147g Hornady FMJ pill sitting on top of 46.5g of IMR 4895
