Good morning fellas,
I hope to become a M1A member here shortly and I have a PRO with the QRP mount laying around which I thought would compliment the rifle nicely. My only concern is: Do y'all think the QRP mount will place the optic too high over the bore?

Also, if anyone has a picture, or could snap a picture of this setup I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks gents.

I have an Aimpoint on a SS mounted over the receiver and I use a cheek pad made by some guy in West Virginia. Very nice set up...

I decided on a SPARC [micro sized] dot because I didn't want to use a cheekpiece.

How has the sparc held up so far? I have a PA micro on my M1A right now, but I'm not sure how long it will hold up. So far it has been good at 200 rd's. Marsh at PA claimed it was spec'ed for 308, M1A. Keeping my fingers crossed it will hold up.

OK, late to the game, I wanted to use a PRO as well, but couldn't get a mount that would work for me, all were too high. I was actually here looking for info on the MidWest Ind M1A/M14 Mini Dot Mount listed here:

MI M1A/M14 Mount

While I really like the PRO & wanted to use it, I'm now looking for something else for my M1A Scout. I have a spare RMR & an Aimpoint R1 so this mount looks like it'll do the trick, just need to decide which optic to use. Have you stuck with the PRO on your Scout? How has it worked for ya?

This might be totally off the subject here, but in case anyone is interested, I use a UTG clip guide rail mount, with a modified ADM QD low mount with my PA micro dot. I did this so I could switch back and forth between my scope, irons, and the micro. So far it has worked out very well, and held zero. I use a Bassett mout for the scope, and that keeps it's zero too every time.

I never have to remove the mount because the bassett fits right over it, and I never experience any malfunctions with cases hitting the mount so far.

I also had to file on the upper bottom side of the clip guide mount to get it to be level, and sit strait in the clip guide. For this I used two small bubble levels, one of the gun, and one to keep checking the clip guide mount until it was level.

I had to cut the ADM mount so the the micro would mount further back, and grab more rail. You will see in the pics. For me this setup has been the best of 3 worlds for me.
