I can't figure out how to imbed the video, so I'll just post a link.

I illustrate loading the M1. This was taught to me by my father, as he was a combat vet in WWII. What you read in the books was bad information.

This is my friend making a hit on a 12" x 16" steel plate at 340yd.  I had not sighted the rifle in properly here, so we were holding way low.  We were shooting LC64 M2 ball ammo.

Excellent video, well executed and different options shown. I personally use both hands to load mine, but only because of scar tissue and skin grafts to my hands from burns suffered early in childhood (1 yr old). The 5 rd clip for hunting, of course. The loading of individual rounds was a new one to me, I always heard that it wasn't possible to load it that way. I noticed the omission of the  2 rd clip and the single shot platform that is available for the gun. All in all, a very excellent tutorial for a novices and old hands alike. Two thumbs up!!

On the Garand, isn't it more reliable when the first round out of the clip is from the left?
