I havent decided on a flashlight setup, if any, yet. What do you guys think?

I'm drooling about the possibility of a Trijicon scout-style scope...damn you.

As far as the flashlight, I'd say a G2 LED, with the click-switch tailcap, on an offset mount of some sort would probably do just fine. I'd personally mount the light offset to the support-hand side from the top rail, but that's my preference only.

Started with a bone-stock, new-in-box Springfield Armory Scout, went to this:

Try as I might to justify purchasing that stock, I never enjoyed shooting it like that, so I sold the tacticool stuff and turned it into this vintage/nostalgia looking thing: gotta say, I'm much happier with it now. I call it my rat rod lol.
(Also, I moved away from my horrible housing-tract to a much more scenic place. Both of these photos were taken in my backyards. I'm showing off both my proud rifle and my better yard.)

My EBR:

Springfield M1A Loaded
Leupold Mk4 LR/T M1 4.5-14x50 TMR reticle (non-illum)
Badger Ordnance medium height steel rings
Sage EBR chassis NSG color
Harris 6-9" bipod

Haven't gotten around to replacing the little pieces yet, will probably get a new mag release, bolt release, and trigger group when I get back from this deployment. Also sorry for the crappy picture quality, was taken with my cell phone about a year ago. Will get some better ones later this year.

Here's my trio.
Top-SAI built with CMP parts kit to like an M14 that came straight off the rack in the armory.
Middle-Preban rear lugged SAI with Gene Barnett heavy barrel built to NM specs.
Bottom-Mk14 Mod 0 clone (in progress...I'll have the proper SEI gas lock and XS front sight on next week!)

They are aparrently designing it now... i will buy it the day its released!
But its funny that you say that... because thats almost what i did.
I also didnt really like the sling mounted on the bottom, as carrying it that way caused the weapon to cant, and got annoying. I didnt want to drill into the stock anymore than required, to avoid the stock cracking. Then i found VLTOR's QDM14 mount... and its awesome.

Now be warned: it requires some modification to mount on wooden stocks. After modifying mine, i decided to give it a bit of refinishing.
Now my sling mounts to the side of the stock, and i still have a rail for a bipod if i so choose to get one someday.
I also traded in my Gear Sector mount for a newer version which doesnt slide on, and enables me to use an un-cut front band. Much better design.
I think NOW she is done. What do yall think?

VLTOR QDM14 sling/bipod mount
Grovtec 720203 QD mount stud (in the stock, and now on both sides)
Blue Force Gear VCAS sling
