1954 Springfield CMP special, talking with Fluffy and a couple others after sending pictures of all the drawing numbers it's about 90% certain this is a correct Garand, not counting the stock of course. My pup Molly is guarding it.

It also enables co-witness of irons though some Aimpoint red dots that mount low.

Is that the same height as the Ultimak scout rail? And when you say co-witness, do you mean lower 1/3?

Took a Sunday afternoon off from hunting and decided to watch some football and give all the guns a good cleaning for the winter.   Cleaning included a full field strip and detail strip to clean and lube everything, and the bores got a good deep cleaning as well.

Decided since they were all out on the counter top in the basement I'd snap a quick cell phone pic.

Top to bottom:

Springfield M1a National Match
1943 Springfield (All correct parts for the date, including original barrel.  Stock is just a bit too late for the S/N)
1944 Winchester (Mostly Winchester parts, missing the obvious rare parts, but does have a 1945 Springfield barrel as purchased from the CMP.)
1955 HRA (Correct)
Postage Stamp ICH

And their distant cousin, a correct Remington 1903A3 made a cameo.

Is your M1A a NM or Loaded?  Or maybe some other brand with a Stainless barrel...  Fulton?

Nice pic.  Great collection.  I really an enamored with my 03A3.  I like it better than Garands.  I got mine from the CMP and it's all remington too.  I did buy a scant stock for it though.  I've yet to shoot it with that stock.

Yep, you called it, The M1a is the NM loaded version.   I have plans to shoot it, along with my 1903 at Camp Perry in the future, along with the M1 Garand.  May even take the AR15 NM along as well.   Shooting the M1 Garand match is a lot of fun, and if I'm gonna make the drive, might as well go all in!

Sounds like a crap ton of fun.

I just noticed this pic in the Mk12 thread.  Supposedly this pic was taken at shot.  A little bit interesting config.

My Mk14 MOD 0. It's built on an LRB barreled action with an 18.5" medium contour chrome lined barrel. Everything is as close to mil-spec as possible, only without the giggle switch. It's still a work in progress. Optics will be added soon, probably either a Trijicon VCOG or 6x ACOG, or an Elcan Spectre TR scope. The receiver, bolt, and op-rod are forged to USGI specs instead of investment casting like many M14/M1A manufacturers do. The trigger group are genuine USGI made by H&R. I will also be getting the SAGE EBR chassis CeraKoted in Burnt Bronze, but leaving the rest of the rifle and optics, including the stock rails, handguard cover, pistol grip, cheek piece, and buttpad black for a two-tone look.

My Mk14 with my LMT MWS308

Mk14 with the rest of my collection, except my H&K Mark 23 since it was bought after this photo was taken.

Top one is a 65' sa rebuild postage stamp International Harvester...never been reissued after rebuild mostly IHC parts which are as new, barrel is a 65 which gauges new...no pitting or wear at all.

Bottom is a 100% correct post war Springfield that does not look like a round has been fired.

I owned a Polytech years ago.   Damn it, you're right.  That IS my old Polytech stock.

I just found my fat walnut Springfield stock on top of a cabinet in the gun room!  lol

Switched them out.  Now I need to relace the cheek pad.

The chu wood stock is probably lighter though.

Didn't mean to mess you up.  I was sort of wondering if it was a polytech rifle but you called it an M1A......  Plus the poly's are usually lighter in color.  Well the ones I've seen.

Dude, I had forgotten that I even HAD the old Polytech stock.  I mounted the receiver in it without even thinking.

Then I found the fat walnut stock and switched it out.  Thanks!

My 8 year old son can have the Polytech.

Lookin good.   Both times!!!!

What kind of accuracy do you get with just the RDS.  My eyes don't do well with RDS.   I have a tenancy to see it double when I focus on the target.....  Blaaaaah.  Stupid eyes.

I love the T1.  It's a great little red dot.  Very accurate for me, out to 100-200 yds.

My HRA SG ser#5571XXX that I got from the CMP back in 2007 wearing a 100 year old RIA bayonet w/ brown grips.

Everything is how I received it from the CMP: receiver, barrel, and gas plug are correct HRA; bolt & trigger group post-war SA; and a WW2 era cut SA oprod. Stock is, to the best of my research, a Greek replacement possibly from SA - it has a 4 digit stamped number on the butt, both X and uncircled P cartouches, and no DAS stamp.

Very nice!  Would love to add a 1917 to my collection.   Got my 1903 out along with one of the M1's this weekend for Memorial day and it was a joy to shoot.  Think I found a good load for it too with some 155 HPBT Match bullets too.

Fun day at the range last Saturday.

Couple of friends came to visit and brought along the 1944 Inland M1 carbine and the wood-stocked 10/22. The stainless Ruger and 870 Police Magnum are mine.

My uncle just passed away a few weeks ago, so I inherited a few guns from him. One is an Inland M1 Carbine in the 6.7 million range with all USGI parts. This thing was so much fun to shoot as a kid, and I'm honored to own it now.
