Looking forward to a range report.

First rounds fired! I was in a rush so it's not my best effort, and I forgot to bring my group tightening Wind Talker. All that being said - I am a happy Blackfeather owner. Top left: 5 rounds, off hand - rapid fire. Top center: 10 rounds from the rest - with optic adjustments. Top right: 10 rounds from the rest. Bottom center: 11 rounds from the rest.

Aimpoint Comp M4 with 2 MOA dot. Portuguese NATO surplus ammunition.

Looks good for off hand!  You must have some big shoulders and biceps.  hehehehe

I can't believe how much light is in there.  I've never seen an indoor range so well lit.  Wow.  That is cool.  Is that a public range?  When I've visited my in laws in Anniston, AL, I have yet to find a public range that isn't too far.  But you're one state over. So....

It's nice little public range in West Athens, just down the road from Clyde Armory.
They just refurbished it, and it looks great.

Top to bottom: Springfield Armory receiver, HRA receiver, and Springfield Armory standard M1A.  The M1's are both CMP Service Grade.  If I had to pick a favorite rifle from what I own, it would be one of these.

Got way too good of a deal on this to pass it up.
Stock is in pretty bad shape, but I'll plug the holes and probably paint it or something. New USGI stock on the way, and a fake switch to fill the hole.
This is about as good as it gets here in CA.

Put a mini red dot on the scout mount, but it's a little too high to shoot as comfortably as the iron sights.
I might try it with an ultimak so I can mount an offset light too.

Consider the lighter, cooler running scout hand guard (SHG).
It accepts mini side rails. You can co-witness, and not need a cheek riser.

I'm not familiar with it, how does it compare to the ultimak in height/weight/price? I'd just be using it for the micro and an offset light mount so I don't have to drill into the stock to mount a light.

The SHG is a few ounces lighter than the UltiMAK, and it is the same height so you can co-witness.
