10.5", 14.5", and 16.5" factory barrels have started shipping from retailers to customers. All barrels are 1:7 twist and no longer have an M4 profile. Hopefully this brings new life to the platform.
I'm going to pick up a 14.5 in the next couple of days and I plan on grabbing the 18.5" DMR and a PRS stock soon after that. |

Any idea if these are going to be offered as factory options anytime soon? 1/7 non-m4 profile might finally make me pull the trigger on an ACR, but I don't want to have to buy an extra barrel to get it.

So the 14.5's are not pinned from the factory? Is the OAL good to go with the supplied FH?
|
|
[#7]
They do offer a pinned 14.5. I think it uses an AAC 51T, but I could be mistaken.

They are 1/7 and a medium to lightweight contour. Like the factory one without a m4 notch. I have a factory 14.5 here now if you want better pics. It will probably end up getting pinned. They also come with 51t mounts. View Quote |

I'm not sure about the factory ones being pinned. They're not on the price list. I've been pinning them myself.
They will be working on 300 blackout, but for right now it's just 5.56 being built. I'm one of the only ones that does them in 300, 6.8, x39 etc... The cool thing is, all of the new barrels are 1/7 and the same 600 dollar price tag. As far as the gas lengths, all barrels are mid length except for the 10.5 inch. If you wanted a carbine length 14 1/2 inch barrel it would have to be custom for now |

What retailers are selling them, and which ones offer pinned 14.5? Can't find anything on Google.
ETA: Anyone else contemplating getting a 10.5" barrel and pinning on a suppressor after the HPA passes? |
|
[#16]
That's crazy to me they ship with a 51t
Sell that bitch bare muzzle. It's not even AAC'S current suppressor mount |
|
[#17]
I thought bushmaster was selling directly to customers not retailers, and reason I state this is cause you just don't see many retailers stocking the acr anymore cause of Remington/bushmaster not standing behind their gun or lack of parts. so who is the stocking retailers, if not bushmaster selling directly to customers?
|
|
[#18]
I don't see any major retailers selling them yet, but they did just become available. I have seen interest in this rifle grow over the last year and now it is really starting to gain momentum.

So, am I going to be able to buy a factory rifle with that new 1/7 light contour barrel? I would order one tomorrow (especially in a factory pinned 14.5").
Not going to buy an ACR with a stupid M4 contour 16", then order a "conversion barrel" in the same caliber just to get a decent setup. |

I'd wager that the new factory SBR and DMR rigs both come with new barrel contours, though the DMR will likely be a medium or heavy barrel. I'd bet my bottom dollar that new ACR rifles, enhanced or standard, will ship with the 16" M4 cut barrels until they run out of them. Then they'll start to ship new rifles with the lightweight 16.5" barrels. Anything other than the 16.5" would probably be special order... Distributors/retailers may be able to order ACR's with pinned 14.5" barrels from the factory, but I doubt it. |

[#22]
They need to get pistol options out there too. Would be nice to get a blackout ACR with a 9" barrel.
|
|
[#23]
The factory Acr's come with the 16.5" 1/9 barrels. There wasn't mention of any other configuration minus the SBR and DMR.
The Sbr has a 10.5" barrel, and the DMR has a 18.5" heavy barrel. It has a different piston support to accommodate the larger profiled barrel. |

[#24]
Does anyone know the weight difference on the lightweight barrel?
|
|
[#25]
The Bushmaster website is no longer "Under Construction" and actually has product details and specs listed. I think hell just froze over.

That was pretty quick.
Do you have a pic of it next to the 16.5 for a direct comparison? |

Every Factory Acr barrel I've removed the flash hider from was a pain in the ass, they do use rockset as well. I'd recommend a Geissele reaction rod. The BM one's weren't as bad as the DD one today that broke the extension loose instead....
Also there is no pinned/welded barrel sets from bushmaster directly. I checked last week. |
|
[#45]
I broke it loose at work then had meetings all evening. Had to check it out before bed.
They did use rock set screwing the new flash hider on it had some resistance in spots. Glad they didn't goop it on. Attached File |

Any news on BM releasing a barrel conversion kit for 6.8 SPC II? Or have they pretty much killed it?
