I'm working on a 9mm suppressor, which will use a combination of cone formed freeze plugs and titanium spacers for baffles.

I'm wondering what an effective setup would as far as number of baffles and spacing. I'm trying to keep weight down as much as possible, so basically the fewer freeze plugs I can get away with, the better.

This will have a Liberty booster screwed into a Ronin Pro adapter as the rear end cap in a 7.6" SDTA titanium tube.

Thanks!

If you want an "effective setup" then freeze plugs are not the way to go. There are so many options these days with storage cups or VSRs that are far more effective.

I agree w/ Eric. You sprung for Ti tube and spacers, but are going to run FP baffles? If weight is truly a concern then why not go with an Al build (or just some Al radial style baffles)? It is more than up to the task for 9mm and you should see better sound suppression with a more efficient baffle design.

I have had good results using FP's for my form 1 suppressors for rifles, but this is my first pistol one. I was just going to "go with what I know".

If basically any of the cups out there are a better option, there's no reason why I couldn't go that route.

I realize this is vague because there's a lot of different cup designs out there but for a 9mm in a 7.6" tube, is there a minimum number of cups I should be using? Just however many will fit (more is better)?

The Octane 9 is 7.5", w/ booster, and has 7, radial style, baffles.
The Ti-Rant 9 is 7.9", w/ booster, and has 8 K-Baffles.
The Obsidian 9 is 6.7", w/ booster, and has 8, VSR/radial hybrid, baffles.
The Ghost 45 is 6.2", w/ booster, and has 6 K-Baffles.

I'd stuff as many as you can in there. Aluminum will keep the weight down so go with more baffle faces FTW.
For reference: The Octane's baffle skirt is about 5/8".

What's the diameter of your tube? Is it a B or D tube?

It's a D tube. I went ahead and got 6 aluminum cups from Tyca because that's all that will fit. Tried it out with subsonics and it was LOUD.

These cups are about 1" tall or so. I guess I could cut the skirts down and add more baffles?
