The Ronin Pro 2" tube can use the threaded ends from the oil filters. The filter itself is not an insert. That's what I gathered from their website.

Those oil filters use a replaceable filter so are basically a threaded tube. Just add baffles.

I just had to order one for work (fuel pump in yard) and when it came in I looked at it and was shocked at how easy if could be used as a F1.
I looked it up and I guess I'm slow as people have been using these for years lol. If the HPA passes it would make a cheap disposable one but it looks too long and heavy for real use. One thing I noticed when looking at video is people only put them on .22lr and never pistols or 5.56, I'm not an expert but I don't know how they would handle higher pressure rounds even if you put baffles and took out the filter media. The engineer at Wix must be a gun guy
