Why? The factory plastic is plenty strong. I've beat the crap out of mmy GSR and the plastic has barely even taken a scratch.

I just don't like plastic bottom metal on rifles.  I am sure the OEM is fine but I am just set in my ways.

Yes.  The trigger guard/magazine housing is all one piece of the RGR and is a polymer.  Supposedly it is pretty robust but I like metal.
