Like many, I've been looking for a brass catcher
for my Mini.  Mine is set up with irons only so I've looked for
something that will work off of the rifle.  I've got a Caldwell Pic Rail Brass Catcher
for my ARs that works like a dream I can't mount one on my Mini as it
will block the sights.  Also, the velcro wrap around brass catchers
common for the ARs won't work with irons either because the strap blocks
the sights.

So, I looked for something to mount on the bench or
a tripod when shooting standing and mostly found fishing net style
catchers.  Then I tried Caldwell and found a decently priced one.  It's
called the Caldwell Brass Trap
and at $32, it's decently priced so I ordered one.  It came in today
and I think it'll work out just fine.  Folds down flat for storage and
travel yet opens to larger enough to be of use at the range.

I have a cheap 12" clamp I got at Harbor Freight
to lock it to the bench at the range and it will mount to a tripod as
well.  Yes, the screens don't hold up terribly well to the hot brass,
but I've found that laying a light towel inside the netting where the
brass lays avoids burning through.  Now I won't have to chase my brass
in any of my semi-autos.

A Friend of mine used a plastic E&L brass catcher he bought from Brownell's many years ago.  It worked good enough on a Mini 14 GB and Ranch Rifle with a scope.

I picked up one at the gunshow for cheap from a guy but when I got it home I found out why he sold it.  First, it would have scratched the heck out of the stock at it's hard plastic and clips to the wood.  Second, you have to replace the left action reinforcement plate screw with a lug that sticks out the left side for a tab to attach to it.  Third, the plastic over the top of the action blocks most of the view of the front sight.  And forth, because it completely covers the action, you have to remove it to charge the weapon, open the action, or anything else.
