What did you pay? Paddle stock rifles are pricey these days.

Congrats!  After years of looking, I finally found one of that particular model/vintage.  Alas my house burnt and the Ruger was destroyed.  Later found a blue one, but it was never the same as that first, early stainless one.

That's a steal. The one gun I really regret selling was a paddle 308. It was the best natural shooting gun I ever owned but the oil tank was empty. $250

Just sold mine in 7mm for $650.  Haven't shot it in about 15 years.  Wanted to fund a couple SBR and suppressor taxes.

Hope yours groups better than mine 'patterned'...

I bought a one new way back when. Bought some Noinco, East German, factory Remington, Winchester and a couple other brands of 7.62x39mm, remounted my scope, another friend who was the real deal by gosh USMC Sniper, shoot, remount scope, tweak and anything he could do within reason. Best the gun would shoot was 3" plus groups at 100y.

I really wanted to like this gun but couldn't like a bolt gun that couldn't shoot better than me.

YMMV

Those are fine rifles.  Built like tanks.  Just wish they had better triggers and a free-floating barrel.
