I for one would really like to see both of these. I love my 77/357 but dang, that is an expensive little bugger. And an x39 bolt gun? I have a few and would buy another one if the price was right.

That would be pretty neat! if they did the x39 I would hope they would do a Grendel as well. Since they are doing the 6.5 creedmoore in the predator rifle. I definitely think a .357 or .44 would be really awesome. Here is to hoping!

I too think that a x39mm would sell well (offer threaded ones also). They can not seem to keep the 300blk American's in stock anywhere.

-If we are dreaming I would like a bolt gun in .45LC. 77/44 or American I dont really care.

Yes! Yes! A Thousand times yes! This is the soul reason I got so happy when Ruger
introduced the American line up. I saw it uses a barrel nut so it would be easy to
change barrels. Then all I would have to do it have Blackhole Weaponry spin me up
a 264LBC barrel. I am just surprised Ruget hasn't made one in 7.62x39 yet. Hell, they
made the mini-30 didnt they. Then again that is probably the reason way they haven't
made a American rifle in 7.62x39 yet is because they mini-30 was never that popular.
Maybe you should all email Ruger and tell them we want one.

I would love to see one in 7.62x39mm that would work with any available ammo. I would order one as soon as the money was there, if they were priced like the others.

Another thing I would like to see Ruger or somebody develop is a set of adjustable iron sights that are easily adaptable to the American series, and higher capacity magazines..  you know, since we are dreaming and all..

I gave up looking for an inexpensive. 357 mag rifle.  I would still like one.  Light, threaded, maybe SBR 10" with a suppressor.

7.62 x 39 would be a fairly simple process.  A 357 mag, with that great huge rim, would take some engineering I would think.  Although it doesn't seem the 7.62 x 39 bolt guns exactly fly off the shelf.

Isn't there a model of the Ruger Mini that shoots the 7.62x39?

I could see them making the 7.62x39. I don't see them doing an American in .357.

I dont see it happening, but I would buy them both.

You could always get a Zastava Mini-Mauser in 7.62 x 39mm.

I actually thought of that but I dont know of any stocks that would fit in.
With the Ruger the factory stock is decent enough.

I might.  I would rather see one in the American series, but I may eventually get one of these. Anyone know if it's drilled and taped for scope mounts?

The issue that held me back from the Zasteva were reports of extraction issues, including broken extractors, when using steel case 7.62x39. One of the main draws of the rifle is cheap blasting ammo so if it has issues with the cheap stuff then it's not so appealing. The big claw on the CZ doesn't seem to have the same issues. Whether the American could handle it would have to be seen (perhaps there are chamber adjustments that would help as well).

Thank you Big_Red_Rocket. After looking at the Zastava I might go this route.

Pukindog, the Zastava M85 does come drilled and tapped for scope mounted. 2 piece
Weaver base and a 1 piece Leopold base.

The gun was imported through out the years by different companies. Remington, chariles
daly, interarms, even CZ USA.
So for spare parts and accessories look under Remington 799, Mini Mauser, and mini
mark-x. They are all the same gun.
Also the Zastava M85 can use any Mauser 98 trigger.

The new ones are supposed to have the improved extractors already installed.
But if not, European American Armory(EAA) sell an upgraded one. I dont
remember the item number. So I guess you can google it. If you find out what
it is can you please post it as I may need one

One of the reasons i wouldn't expect to see a 7.62x39 chambering in a Ruger or other domestic rifle is the bore diameter.  .308 barrel blanks are most common and could be re-purposed for other calibers.  A .310 or .311 barrel blank would be required to do it right, and would be a special order since there are few other calibers sharing that size bore.  While Ruger already has the Mini-30 barrels, there's no telling in what level of finish they come in at.

This is not as much an issue with Zastava or CZ, since they produce other rifles chambered for 7.62x39.

I was google searching stocks for the Zastava M85 when I saw that
Howa is going to start chambering their 1500 mini action in 6.5
Grendel. If it goes as planned it should be out around the end of this
year beginning of next year.

Ruger already makes the 77 in .357 mag.. I have one and can assure you that they have it all "figured out".....the damn things just cost almost $800

And please use the mini-30 mag for it!!

At one time Ruger made the M77 in 7.62x39.  It didn't sell well.

Yeah but that was when MAK90s were $149 and SKSs were $90 'pick one out of a crate of 20' days.

Those days are gone.

I kinda expect Ruger will get around to doing it, I also expect it will be .308 bore as well.

Also agree, 7.62x39 in the Predator(ETA er ranch) line with threaded barrel would be ideal.

If ruger made the American Ranch in 7.62x39-..... They couldn't keep up with demand!

Not Ruger or American made, but the CZ527 in 7.62x39 is probably the best 7.62x39 bolt gun on the market.

I have a Remington 799 in 7.62x39 that I've had for several years and have never even fired.  I'm thinking about selling it, along with some other safe queens, since I honestly found the point in my life where it's possible to have too many guns!

Yeah, I know, it was a real shocker for me.  I couldn't believe that anyone could ever have too many guns, but I like to shoot everything that I have, so if it's been in my safe for years and never fired I'm considering doing some selling on gunbroker or here, or something.
