As title of thread implies, I'd like to mount either a Primary Arms 30mm rds or a Vortex Strikefire on my Ranch Rifle using a 30mm Ruger ring.  I've seen a pic of one in this forum before, and was wondering which height works the best?  Would a medium ring be tall enough?

I use a PA Micro Dot on a GG&G rail. Works great.

I would think a medium ring would work.

The ring package says "30mm, H, 4B30".
I didn't try a medium, but the front of the PRO almost touches the heat shield as it is.
Medium would be cutting it real close.

i use the high for my primary arms.  I think that the medium would work, however with a choate hand guard.
I had the mediums at one time with a x32 scope and there was plenty of room.

It looks like you are using the factory ring and location.
How is it working for you?
I have a set of factory rings and thought of mounting a dot like that. I was just worried it wouldn't be stable & secure.

It doesn't cowitness but other than that it's great.
Looking through it seems to put my head in a natural, comfortable position.

Seems very stable.
The factory rings are solid.
The great thing is, using the factory ring is fairly low cost, and you don't have to modify the gun.

There is no peep under the glass to use the irons?
