I have an SR-556 FB.

I added an Blue Force front sling mount (Rail Mounted Fixed Loop - RMFL) and a Midwest Industries End Plate Single Sling Mount (MCTAR-13).  I changed out the grip for a Magpul MOE Grip...nothing wrong with the one that came on it I just like the Magpul better.  Right now it also has a Magpul Vertical fore grip (RVG).  It has an EOTECH M512.A65 on top.

I like it a lot...great gun.  Very well made.  I have not had it for a very long time yet, only a few hundred rounds shot from it but no issues at all.
If you get a used one I would recommend that you get a newer one (there were some reported carrier tilt issues with the first year or so but that has been completely fixed).
I have owned several ARs and this one appears as good or better than most so far.

I have heard several good reviews of this rifle and nothing bad (except for the very early carrier tilt issues that have since been fixed).

Is it compatable with most/all aftermarket AR parts? Like do you think an Aframe front sight post could go on? Or does the gas tube block that?

Not sure about the A frame front sight post...I’m thinking that you are talking about putting a detachable a-frame style front sight on the gas block.  It should work.  You would just have to make sure that it’s the correct height for what ever you are using for a rear sight.

It appears to be compatible with most other AR parts…obviously the bolt carrier and gas system is different but most other things appear the same.

I have wanted one of these for a while but they were priced a bit high. I see that they can be purchased for under $1000 now.

They are great shooters and the BCG is so damn easy to clean after a day at the range. Ruger gives you a lot for your money. I have two and just posted one for trade in the EE. Nothing negative to say about them, I just don't need two. They look badass with an ACOG
