I'm torn on the Swede.  It's beautiful, yet I want to cry about the "Bubba" factor.

Anyway, what kind of accuracy are y'all getting from the Gunsite Scout?

I get minute of a deer with mine at a hundred yards... Seriously about 2.5" from a sandbag with factory hunting ammo.  Going to try working some loads up this spring to see if I can improve that a bit.  It's a almost an sbr so I'm not too overly worried since I don't see me taking a shot fast 200 anyway

Curious if any others are using a different birdcage on their Scouts? I saw the question earlier and was wondering if anymore input?

The reason I'm asking is I have a nice high pitch ping from the birdcage when shooting.

I'm running the one sold by Griffin Armory.  Is a bit loud but it really keeps the barrel down for repeat shots.

NIce!!  This is exactly how I would run a Ruger Scout.  Iron sights, hideous flash suppressor removed.  Simple.

Ouch!
With handloads, I've been able to put 4 rounds into 3/4 of an inch at 100 yards off a rest.
With Hornady Superformance 165 SST's I'm getting about an inch and with Federal 165 gr Deer Thug, (stupid name for the ammo), I'm able to get about the same.

Using Winchester 150 & 180 gr softpoint, I'm seeing 2-3 inch groups at 100.....so I can understand it might be that your gun doesn't like what you're using.

I have had my GSR for awhile now, just mounted the scope though and sighted it in this weekend. I was shooting Federal white box ball, the rifle likes it! did not have time to shoot much. Range was 50 yds, took five rounds to sight the scope in, then shot a group of two, minor adjustment then group of five. Can not wait to stretch it's legs and see what it will do.

How do you like the Burris 2x7? I almost purchased that instead of the Leupold.

It seems very nice, I'm happy with it. Did all my shooting on 4 power, that was the sweet spot for me as far as magnification and field of view when shouldering the rifle and aiming at far off targets of opertunity, they jump right into the field of view. At higher magnification if I did not bring the rifle up right on target I had to start looking for it. I'm sure it will get easier, it's the first time I've used a forward mounted scope on a rifle, by the end of the shooting session I felt much more comfortable with it.
Optics are clear and it operates smoothly, nice windage & elevation clicks, it gives the impression of be very well built and solid.

I haven't had a chance to even shoot it yet. Just mounted the side sling swivel tonight, it's just a uncle mikes rear sling stud in there.

Smith brake, Harris 9-13" swivel bipod (not the original intent to mount it on this rifle but I had it and there it sits), VTAC butt stock adaptor and my LBT lightweight sling from my last deployment.

Next up is some sort of optic, the Burris scout scope with the Ballistic plex reticle or a Leupold scout scope are on my list to look at.

I have a impact guns aluminum magazine well but have not mounted it, the magazine catch is just a hair to long to seat any magazines. I will have to trim that lever down a bit for it to work.

I can't wait to shoot this gun and get some meat for the table.

Cranked off 10 rounds of Federal 165g Fusion at this 12" plate yesterday. Range was around 225 yards, this gun was sighted in with surplus FMJ so it took a couple shots to get on target.

This thread is far too right-wing oriented.  How about a little more left-wing??

Got this one off the used rack. The previous owner bought it and never shot it. He shot his buddies GSR before he got a chance to shoot this one and didn't like it. She was in jail(layaway) for a while. But I brought her in to work today to show off. Along with a few friends.

Randall's, it was on the shelf for atleast a month. I work there part time and on the weekends so I kept playing with it and my co worker finally talked me into snagging it.

It's a Knights Armament Co. 7.62 QDC flash suppressor.  There are two variants, so you have to be careful about which one you buy if you happen to be seeking one out.

I ditched the scope, extended rail and bipod, and I'm now running it in this exact configuration.  It's perfect.

And here's mine getting some use last year just because
