Good evening guys... I have a question regarding my SBR and the my ATF Tax stamp. I just picked up a new lower, Aero Precision AR15 Stripped Lower Receiver, Special Edition: PEW. My question is will they (ATF) let me move the Tax Stamp from my current lower to the new lower? Is it the same process to get a tax stamp or something different?

I also have the TAC-CON AR-15/AR-10 Tac-Con™ 3MR with AMBIDEXTROUS Selector so I can use that "PEW PEW PEW" position, and before those of you who don't like the TAC-CON sound off on me, I've had mine for over a year now and I love it.

But I'd appreciate any comments you guys can spare.

No, you can't transfer it. You file a new and separate form 1 and pay the $200 tax for your new lower.

Well that sucks... hell if that's the case then I may as well just get a second stamp, thus a second SBR, which is not what I want, but it is what it is.

Back in the day there was a red and white paper strip that went over the top of a bottle of booze. That was the tax stamp for the contents of that bottle. Each bottle got its own stamp, when the bottle is empty the party is over until you can pony up the price for the next bottle.

Same for firearms stamps - 1 tube or 1 receiver, fuck it up beyond repair and its time to buy another stamp...

A new Form 1 requires a new tax stamp.
If you have not yet made the SBR on your first Form 1, you can return it to ATF for a refund.
