If I have my MPX barrel cut down from 8" down to 4.5" and only use a brace do I still need to register it as an SBR?  Trying to cover all my bases as it's difficult to get a new MPX barrel with Sigs difficulty in supplying parts.

Nothing is changing if you're keeping the brace. No stamp needed
Although you should get one

no, it's still not a NFA firearm. still a pistol, with or without the brace, just with a even  shorter barrel.

Perfect!  Thanks!

I'm still going to SBR it just trying to get a better idea of what is required before doing so.  The brace is going to be a stop gap till the Form1 comes back so I can put an adjustable stock on it.
