Hi, I have an IMI Uzi Model B SBR that I want to send out of State for minor repairs and refinishing afterwards.  I'm currently leaning towards sending it out to IGF for the work when they start accepting work again.

Prior to sending it out OR doing anything, is there paperwork I need to complete first?  If so, what form is used and how long, approximately, does it take the ATF to approve the process... If they're involved?

Thanks!!

Just include a copy of your form 4, no need to get approval to send the gun off for repairs / Gunsmithing.

Ask IGF how they like to do it. In addition to a copy of your F4, I usually send a F5 filled out and signed by me with the gun. I check Other in Box 1 and put "gunsmithing". It is not necessary to include a F5. Really it isn't necessary to include a F4 either. There's no reason to get ATF involved at all, but if they do get involved, they'll see enough paperwork to keep them happy. lol

Thanks for the replies!!  I'm still trying to learn my way through Class III firearms... Not looking to do time in prison over a paperwork screw up!!
