Ok Guys, I am in the process of building another SBR and I am torn between several uppers.

I am leaning toward with a DD MK18 upper, because I have always wanted one; or a Noveske 10.5/NSR or another 11.5 BCM CHF. Help my pick!!

I already have several SBR's to include:

5.56
7.5" Spikes V2 Concussion
10.5" Noveske Switchblock
11.5" BCM CHF

300Blk
9" AAC

5.45
AKS74U

9mm
MP40 Transferable

Pics just because:

Knights Armament SR15 CQB 11.5"

ETA - I had a CQBR blockii clone attempt..... To me the only upside to it was how solid the RISii is.

My only rear fear with the MK18 clone upper is the over gassing that appears to be common. I had a upper that was overgassed and it took forever to get the buffer/spring combination correct for it to function 100% of the time.

I know there are now a lot of great adjustible gas blocks, but i really don't want to go that route. I prefer simple. My other SBR's run great suppressed unsuppressed with a standard spring and H2 buffer. Simple.

Perhaps another in .30 caliber. Another .300 or maybe a 7.62. Seems like you're all set in 5.56.
Either way, something that performs well from short barrels is what I'd go with.

Cheers!

ETA: Nice collection of rifles there

This is why I decided to get into 6.8, it performs good out of short barrels. My reasoning was it fills the gap between 5.56 and 300 blk as far as velocity and bullet weight. I plan for it to be my new deer rifle, it's a Bison Armory 11.5" barrel with a 1:7 twist.

Draco SBR, because that 74U needs a big brother and 7.62x39 is cheap

I've got a couple factory Mk18 DD uppers and I've had great luck with a Springco red and an H3.  Works perfectly with or without can.  I do run a gas buster and Surefire cans on them so there's that.  I've had excellent accuracy with them and if memory serves I'm in fourth place in the Mk18/CQBR "mil-spec" accuracy challenge with one of my factory uppers.

The two in the middle left are the factory ones.  Lower left is built by me using an ADCO cut RO921HB SOCOM barrel.  It is noticeably heavier.  I also have another built using a Ballistic Advantage Hanson profile 10.3 1/8 416R barrel.  I haven't gotten around to shooting it yet.....

I voted MK18. Clones are just badass. Mine has run 100% suppressed and unsuppressed with a standard spring and H3 buffer.

If you have the cash, the KAC upper is probably awesome.Or you could just get a BCM upper and spend the difference on a rds or ammo. My BCM 11.5 BFH upper is the bees knees.

Actually had one of those. Shot a lot of rounds through it. Traded the upper for a PVS7d
