I have a hard time going back and forth with optics. I've been digging the T1 for a while, but I kinda like the ta33 as well. I like the elcan on my 14.5 the most I think

It looks like one of the sling attachments from Zahal.  I have a couple that I like to use.  They're cheap, they work, they're light, and they're simple.

I finished this last month and haven't had time to shoot it yet. Hopefully tomorrow. I use the 6.5-20x50 Vortex on my bull barrel .223 but move it from AR to AR for load testing. My eyes aren't what they were 30 years ago. I'll put the PRO back on when I get the load settled. Maybe a 1-6 Leupold.

The gunsmith who cut my barrel didn't cut the right length. I asked for 10.5 it came back 11.5. Guess he didn't measure twice and cut once. Any way he discounted the price but would not recut. I have a 10.3 build but like the 11.5 better.

Colt commandos are 11.5

Edit- you could call him back and see if he'd take it down to 10" then you could have an L119 clone

Looks good as is.

How do you like the mini on the 11.5? Would you recommend a full size can or do you like what the mini offers?

Yea you're right. Well, does anyone have any experience with one of the smaller "mini" cans on their 11.5?

11.5 is the sweet spot for me. I've tried 10.5 (which I do like), and 12.5 (which I found a little too long).

Sorry. Just saw this.

Oh how I hate this site. Already have a 7.5", 10.5", 12.5", 14.5", 16", 20".  Sold an 11.5" yrs ago. Have a specwar 5.56k in jail and thought 11.5" might be a great host...

Righttobear.com has a faxon 11.5" gunner barrel on sale for $134 shipped...

Exile had the alpha 10" kmr for $160

I already had a melonite mid gas tube, bcm .625 gas block, aero upper reciever, and psa premium bcg, Silencerco f/h in the parts bin so the stars alined and I will have to post pics later this week...

Forgot to check and see if I have a charging handle, and sights. Well now I'm off to find these now, thanks alot for these picture threads losing me money.

My Colt LE6933s have all been 100% reliable so far in the factory configuration.
What I don't like is all the gas to the face when I run with cans on.  You may wish
to consider AGB if you plan on running a can.

Don't you need a 12.5" barrel to run a midlength gas system, or am I missing something...?

Faxon (I think) carries a mid 11.5".

I just picked up an 11.5" 5.56 upper with the Faxon Gunner mid length barrel. Haven't shot it yet, hopefully tomorrow, but the previous owner told me it was the smoothest shooting upper he had ever used. The upper has a 10.7" SLR Ion Lite hand guard and SLR adjustable gas block. I mounted a DT Omega with a 5.56 flat end cap, a T2 on a LaRue mount and Troy BUIS. Might be my new favorite. This upper with the Faxon Gunner barrel, Omega, T2 and Troy BUIS is noticeably lighter than my 10.5" 5.56 with Fortis hand guard, Magpul BUIS, a SPARC and an Omega QD mounted, and almost exactly the same length since the ASR QD set up adds about and inch to OAL. Crappy pic but its all I have at the moment:

I have had an 11.5" 6.8 SPC II upper for some time, and it is my favorite for hunting hogs. That upper has an SLC SOLO Lite hand guard and SLR adjustable block. The only decent photo I have shows my 17yr old son with the rifle and a boar he killed with it. The optic is an IR Defense, now Trijicon, 35mm MK II thermal scope and the suppressor is an YHM ULT:

on your 11.5's do you guys prefer lightweight/pencil profile barrels or standard? I'm wanting to go lightweight but not sure how bad the POI shift is going to be with the suppressor?  I don't mind weight so much but balance is important. I know there's no free lunch. trying to stay away from a 10lb SBR.

My new to me 11.5" uses the Faxon Gunner, which is gov't profile to the gas block journal and then pencil from there. Seems like a good compromise and balances very well with the 11.4oz Omega DT, T2, BUIS...

It's great.

The 4x/1x pairing on an SBR works well, and IMHO is less awkward than a traditional tubed 1-4x scope on such a compact rifle. I can access the red dot with a quick twist of the rifle from either my left or right shoulder with no break in cheekweld.

With apps like Strelok Pro, it's not hard to map the reticle to the barrel/ammo combination you're using.

Shit.

Now I need to build yet another A2 upper...

Luckily I have a FN A2 upper sitting around from my last build. That upper was built as a 727, but I got a good deal on a Colt A2 and switched them out.
Now I need a complete 11.5 barrel. Don't  want to break down my original 6933 upper..

Oh, it's going on my 6933 lower. The only non F1 SBR I have.

What barrels is everyone using?

I've got an 11.5 project rolling around in my head and I've narrowed it to three, Ballistic Advantage, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, or (what I'm leaning to) Faxon lightweight profile.

The advantage to the Faxon it's .625 gas block journal size which matches the .625 SLR adjustable I have on my 16in Predatar barrel.

Rifle will be suppressed 100% of the time, with a 'K' sized 5.56 can.

I used Sionics Weapons System; pretty much came complete for less that $250 with shipping. Nice barrel, and I read a lot of great reviews on it.
