I'm thinking about filing my last lower as a 10.5-12.5" 6.8 spc, anyone have any experience with this caliber? I already have a few 556 and 300 blackout sbr but I have never shot 6.8. Any input would be appreciated, thinking this would mainly be a deer gun. Is there some other caliber I should look at like 6.5 g? Thanks in advance.

12-12.5 is a great SBR length for the 68. I deer hunt and shoot tons of pigs with a 12" 6.8 using Barnes TSX.  I stop at about 200 yards on deer but will take shots on pigs out to 400 yards when I have the 12" with a 7X scope.

What's a good accurate barrel? I've looked at Noveske but I figure there's better options out there for that price.

I like mine. I don't get to shoot it as much as I would like unfortunately.

Lots of good info at 68forums.

I've looked at the Bison barrels, not too bad on price. Noticed they have 1:11 and 1:7 which can handle subs. Never heard of 6.8 spc using subs. How is yours as far as accuracy is concerned using 110-130 grain bullets with a 1:7 twist? Bison says its gtg for 110-200 gr but never heard any real world experience.
Doubt I would shoot subs with it because that's what my 300 blk is for but I'm not going to say never. Also heard ARP barrels are good and accurate but never have heard of what they will shoot. As long as it's sub moa I'll be happy, about to file the f1 now but I'd still like some real world info on the various barrel manufacturers and their accuracy.

Well hell in that case I may have to try the Bison barrel in 1:7, for the price you can't beat it. That's 2/3 of what I payed for some of my best shooting barrels. Think I'll pick that up along with a BA 5.5" poly 9mm barrel for a future build. Thanks bw

I'm running a 10.5" Noveske barrel with a YHM TITANIUM QD suppressor and an H2 buffer , switch between aimpoint pro patrol and a Trijicon 1-4 , runs smooth with 115gr SSA tactical loads and the Barnes TSX loads . At 50yds with the aimpoint its almost one ragged hole ..  tons of fun
