I have a LMT 10.5" upper with 1/7 twist topped off with a Specwar K 5.56 suppressor. Will there be any stabilization issues shooting the long Barnes 70 grain TSX? I know Barnes recommends a 1/8 or faster twist for this bullet and mine is a 1/7, but it was a six month process getting this can so I don't want a baffle strike if I can help it.

I tried out the 70 gr solids using my DD 10.3 and saw good results on pigs. Typical shots were within 100 yards and we only tested them out for a few days. Pricing and bulk availability is what we were after, so we ended up with the 62 gr Fusion for now.

You do understand that 1/7 IS a faster twist than 1/8, right?

Probably just nervous about it. I can understand.

That round has already made a complete revolution in the barrel and is halfway through another. If it is already tumbling to the point of baffle strikes that soon, I would imagine that you would see key holing at 150 - 200 yards. That being said, I dont have any scientific data backing that claim up and I suppose it is POSSIBLE the round could stabilize.... But I wouldnt think so.

Oh, yes. But I'm just being a worry wart.

I shoot everything from 52 gr. HP to 75 gr. HPBT thru my Noveske 10.5 suppressed.  Never had any issues.  Hornady 52 gr. HP are actually some of the most accurate shooting rounds.
