i'd rather not spend another 100 for a gas block. you guys running heavy buffers?
MK18 SBR comes with an H buffer stock.
I'm running an H2 myself, but I don't run a can on it.
It is heavily overgassed, with a can you're going to get substantial gas to the face.
I believe the MK18 guys in the big AR thread say H3 and springco Blue.
I did some testing on saturday and put up a video showing the difference.
.081~.082 Factory DD port size
LC M855
H3 buffer and Red Sprinco spring (The Red spring is even stronger than the Blue)
Unsuppressed 756 RPM
Suppressed 1046 RPM
290 RPM difference in cyclic rate
Old video shows
.070 Port
LC M855
H2 buffer standard power (White) Sprinco Spring
Unsuppressed 830 RPM
Suppressed 1024 RPM (Notice lower than using the H3 buffer and Red Spring...but I was using a .070 Milspec port size not the .081~.082 port size)
194 RPM difference in cyclic rate
.049 Port Suppressed 726 RPM
