Any good way to carry a ar In a back pack, or with a sling? Want to bring my ar with me when riding, and can't find a good way to do it.  Gun in question is a SBR with the Troy PDW stock. Would like to be able to get quick access to it if possible.

Thanks

Gun in question. Has a 8 inch barrel and is in 300 blk.  I am also looking for a new front hand guard, any suggestions.

I separate the upper and lower and place them in a backpack. Works with my SPR too.  If its not too rocky and bumpy, I just use a 2 point sling and try extra hard to not crash.

Only prob with splitting it is not fast to deploy.

A tennis racket case and some straps will make a nice saddle sheath, kinda like what you can get for lever guns. Find a good place on the bike to mount it, and as a plus, you can zip or unzip it for easy access, or discreet transport.

Standard GI sling, across your back.

If you google AR scabbard, you should find some low end stuff. I would reenforce the stitching, but other than that, it should work fine for your purposes, and cheap enough to not feel bad about modifying if you have to do so.

There's a thread somewhere with people using tennis racquet cases, and it actually looked like the perfect fit for most under 10.5

Replace the rail with a Seekins SAR rail

It's got a pretty large ID if you want to recess a silencer.

ETA: what do you have on there now? Is it already a Seekins?

Gear sector sling but any good two-point sling will work, I've been using "way of the gun (WOTG)" lately and like the adjustability and simplicity, plus you can attach the "WOTG" without plastic couplings or metal attachment points (noisy).

Collapse the stock all the way and pull it in tight to your chest. I can't shoot with my helmet on so there is some delay in deploying until the helmet comes off.

Play around with the attachment locations for the best feel/fit. Try not to crash!

Don't forget to close your dust cover have a mag in the magewell and scope caps closed. This photo was from 3 years ago and there is still red, west tx dirt embedded in the crevices of my rifle.

I would not sling it. If you get into a crash you will get hurt by the rifle. I don't care how good you are, you can't predict environment and shit breaks on a bike.
If open racking it with no cover, tape a condomn around the muzzle to keep sand and dust out. Shoot through fine or easy to rip off.
And make sure your rifles screws are torqued tight. The rattle of a dirt bike will loosen all sorts of rails and mounts. Nothing like getting to your check point and finding your acog missing.

Hate to ask but do you really need an sbr when riding dirt bikes. When I ride I feel safe w a pistol.

Maybe he rides to his shooting spot?

I'm with you though. Unless really needed, no way it's worth carrying in the open. Just another thing to mess you up if you wipe out (unless it's in a case or something).

Spend a little money for something a  bit more durable

http://www.amazon.com/AR15-Muzzle-Cover-Black-5-Pack/dp/B009PSZJ8Q

You can shoot through those as well if the need arises.
Op, if you're that worried about speedy deployment maybe a handgun is a better option for you?

You may want to check your local laws before doing so. Riding a dirt bike with a loaded long gun is illegal in OH. Our carry permits are only for pistols, and many states are the same. A loaded gun while riding is considered concealed, whether it truly is or not. Just something to consider and check out.
