Good thing the Mk18 thread exists otherwise you'd never get your hands on an MK4 in a timely manner.

Geissele MK4 or SLR. Most of SLR's products come in 9" or 10", but there is a 9.5" Solo made to accommodate AAC suppressors.

Geissele rails are killer. Pick which one suits your mounting system of choice.

Definitely a CMR over a C4.
Specially if you're working with a fresh barrel.
If you chopped a post and wanted to use the original nut I'd say C4.

I ended up getting a CMR. I had forget about them and didn't like the looks when they first came out. After revisiting them I really like the look.

They changed how they looked recently.
The picture I posted is the most up to date one.
I think you'll be really happy. I have a burnt bronze one I'm waiting on a barrel for.

Yeah I noticed that. I think that's why I like them now. Would love to see that rifle once you get the rail.

I have built several 10.3 - 10.5" pistols/rifles and can recommend the Seekins/Spikes BAR rail which, despite lacking keymod/M-lol, is extremely robust and lightweight. I also have a Seeking MCSR rail, which I cannot recommend highly enough. It lives on a 10.5" pistol with BCW keymod furniture.  I also really like the Samson rails for lower-profile builds and the Daniel Defense Lite Rail III and RIS.

Another option is the OdinWorks 9.5" rail.  I just bought this last week with the crazy Daniel Defense 10.3" CHF sale from WesternSports, and it should be here this week.  The reviews for the Odinworks rails on Primary Arms are all pretty good and it is reasonably priced for a Keymod rail.

To each his own, I guess. I actually prefer quad rails. Something just feels right about it. Reminds me of my Kac Ras on my duty rifle.

This. I love my CA C4. The non quad rails look weird to me. As you said, to each his own.

Ditto that.

The DD Light rails that ship with their MK18's are excellent rails for those not looking to reinvent the wheel.

Quad rails are bulky and heavy. I rather add the rail pieces I'm going to actually use and have a light-weight rig.

There is a 2 oz. difference between the 9" C4 and 9.5" CMR, add (2) 2" alum. rails to the CMR and they weigh the same.

I have a MK18 -
If you don't have one, get one.

That being said, I wouldn't build another.
Way lighter, and better rails out there.
