Thanks that helps a lot. I apologize if this has been covered numerous times, but what more would I need to do if I wanted to file it as a trust and use the Efile version? Does it cost more than the standard $200? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

For someone who is filing a Form 1 as an individual not in a trust...how long can I expect to wait? And is there anyway of knowing that the ATF has received my Form and payment? Sorry guys, this is my first one. I think they're running 6+ months still. It'll have to be a paper form, as you can't use EForms. Write a check. When it clears (look for the $200, not the check number), you'll know they're working on it. You could also send it with a tracking number so you know when it's delivered. nfatracker.com will give you an idea of the timeframes...just look for F1s that have a "no" under eFiled. Thanks that helps a lot. I apologize if this has been covered numerous times, but what more would I need to do if I wanted to file it as a trust and use the Efile version? Does it cost more than the standard $200? Cost is the same, you just have to have a trust, which is the way to go anyway. I did my trust with quicken willmaker. Super easy. |

Well, just filed for 2 SBRs last night. Getting into the NFA game for the first time. But how long does it take them to charge the $200 to your credit card? View Quote EFiled? Immediately. Paper filed with the new form that lets you pay by CC? Dunno...never seen anybody post their experience. |

Update: posted before that I filed 2/10 Form1 eForm Trust. Just was approved today, 4/15. Notified by email and received a PDF copy of the stamp.
To any of the first-time eform filers: there was no indication of progress at all on the gov website until the approval email was received. The constant checking every day was wasted effort. sleestak |

Am I the only 2/10 not approved yet... Any other 10s out there
finally came back 4/16 |

The reason most people log in to check is because the email notifications don't always come. I had six approved this week, but only got five emails. I've had two others that never got an email...but four others that did. |

Just submitted my first efile (SBRing a KAC factory SBR lower)
My prediction: Approval 1 day after the next batch of 11.5" BCM uppers go out of stock |

my security question answer was worded in such a manner i had to write it out different ways for about 3 minutes before i got the right one. But I'm in now and i can finally get my fix of checking this page even though it will be weeks before it changes

I'm mailing my form 1 in as an individual and building a SBR 300 blackout....what exactly can I put in the caliber portion of the form so that it doesn't get rejected? Seems like most of my internet searches come up with "300 BLK" will work. Any personal experience?

Quoted: Quoted: Just submitted my first efile (SBRing a KAC factory SBR lower) My prediction: Approval 1 day after the next batch of 11.5" BCM uppers go out of stock Can you clarify what that means? KAC lower that came from the factory as a 14.5" carbine & has "KAC SBR" engraved & filled. Original buyer had a muzzle device pinned and the rifle removed from the registry. I talked to 2 ATF agents and they didn't see how my (re-)making it an SBR would violate anything, but they were field agents not Form 1 approvers... Since it was born a rifle it can't be a pistol, at least now it can't since I've gone and put this info on the internet. I do however, have a nearly complete STT-15 lower that I was thinking of selling but could build into a pistol as a surrogate until my stamp comes in. |
|
And you bought the KAC lower as a GCA firearm, with no F4 transfer...right?
You can definitely make an SBR with it on a Form 1, but it will have to be engraved again with your info. The previous engraving won't matter. (You may very well know this already...just pointing it out to anybody following the discussion) |

For paper, I think they're a little more flexible. But...the safe bet it simply "300" as posted above.
My paper F1 (filed fall of '13, approved May '14) has 300 Blackout. |

Edit: i just got disapproved on 4/20 but when I log on I can't find any notation of what I did wrong or how to fix it. Again, I'll be calling them today. EDIT # 2: ok the notation of the problem was on an attached form... And it wasnt the ATF's fault. I put my name in the blank where the trust name goes. Do I have to refile a whole new application now? Like re-download my trust documents and everything? |
