I think some of y'all are overthinking this trying to figure out what's taking so long.

The numbers I was given a couple weeks ago was there were 400,000 forms sitting in queue, and they're clearing about 20,000 a month. The number of forms received from mid-June to mid-July is unlike anything ever really seen before.

That would suck, it would mean the later July submitters and anyone post 41F would be looking at a almost 2 year wait from 2 weeks ago not including what they have already waited.

Agreed. I'm waiting to see how much truth there was.

Even if it doesn't end up being a 20-month wait, I definitely believe it's a simple case of volume and not anything sinister or related to the reorg.

Agree. Its not like governmemt to reorganize anything fast. Bet nothings happening at this point and wont until most of the backlog is finished

BW is right about volume. I am waiting on only one more stamp for now. It was a 7-12-2016 submitted paper form 1 for an sbr. Not holding my breath but you never know. I will report here when that day comes.

I am. 7/4 submission, control #2016319XXX. I called last week and was told that "It was submitted and in process".

I had one that did the same but it was approved, you might want to log in and check its status.

About two weeks ago someone in the Washington Hometown Forum posted about a paper Form 1 submitted 7/11 being approved already! I was happy for him but pissed at ATF because my eForm 1 from 7/8 is still in limbo. I thought eForms were supposed to be faster. But anyway, unless he was an anomaly, you may be good soon!

I logged in and it's approved, however the website is acting fucky. When I click view form I get a weird error message.

ETA: I was able to view the form and it still has the submitted water mark and no stamp or approval signature. What now?

If it is in your Approved folder then I would use "ask the experts" they will fix it.

I already did. I'm usually patient but I got pretty excited when I logged in. After the longest wait of my life, knowing it's approved, I just want my damn stamp!!

I'm also a 3253xx submission in Florida. No idea when it will clear. Thought about doing some Chinese algebra to calculate how many per day are getting approved. Five business days from today is optimistic.

Ident Marking in Rockwall is what you seek. Excelllent work and about 2 week turnaround. All mine SBR have been done there and they have even walkin same day service on Thursdays.

they do amazing work, sent my SBR's to them and my CZ EVO and came out great they say around 2-3 weeks but always get back sooner!

I called last week on one of my Form 1 submissions and asked for my control number, too. After I hung up I thought, "I must have heard it wrong."

I called again today about another form sent in together with the first. Got the "we are working on the last week of June, first week of July" statement. I asked about the control number for this Form 1 and the guy said "2017XXXXX."

I said, "But I sent my forms in last July." He said, "Yes, your payment was posted 7/20, but your forms were not entered into the system until NOVEMBER... and our fiscal year turns over in October."

I have absolutely no idea where I stand.

All I can say is, my postmark was prior to the cutoff, and I sure hope they don't give me a hard time.

not a problem at all...local dealer (not THSF) posted this on a forum:

As I said in the other thread. The wait times will get worse before they get better. They process 20k applications a month and have close to 400k application backlog. 20 months to clear it. That is from an atf agent that worked in bag previously
His "other thread" post included:

I got my info from an atf investigator that worked in nfa and still talks to them. I would not hold my breath on any changes impacting timelines. Only so many forms a person can review in a day. That math equates to 20k per month which would take 20 months to clear the backlog.

It really sucks as it is impacting my business.

I can't confirm or deny those numbers...but I'll stick with my theory that pure volume is great biggest issue right now.

I noticed there is finally a 7/7/16 approval showing up on NFATracker. I don't think it moved from 7/6 to 7/7 for over a week.

I have a 7/8/16 form 1 and from what it looks like that may be 2 more weeks till approved or more.

I feel ya. I have a 7/8 e-file that I thought would have been approved a week ago and it seems like last week it went from 7/4 to 7/6. Maybe this week 7/8 will pass.

Not sure if this is good news or that it means maybe with the reorganization of branches it has sped up a bit

Both Checks Cashed: 4/24 at 0924

I've never seen them cash the check so quick. I do live close to Atlanta so maybe that was a factor but still 5 days is pretty quick

Forms are sent to Atlanta because that's where Bank of America processes the payment before forwarding the forms to WV. Check cashing gives no indication of actual speed of processing.
