SON OF A! I filed MODST15 as the model. ATF says I need to resubmit with model as ST15.

Back to the back of the line I guess...

Doh! (but, ST15 is indeed the model engraved)

The bad news is you have to pay another $200, and the refund of the first $200 will probably take 60+ days.

The good news is if you follow these instructions, you'll probably have approval within 48 hours or so (based on the experience of most people).

When ever I had an issue with a form 1/3, I just had to make a call, sometimes even fax them the correction, and it was approved a few days later.  I think once, they made me correct caliber, I left a  spot blank once also.

No corrections on eforms.

Email them and they shall fix quicker than a full resubmit.

Email them even though they said this:

PLEASE RESUBMIT WITH CORRECT MODEL NAME ENGRAVED ON LOWER RECEIVER (ST15). REFUND IN PROCESS.

I had the exact same issue around Christmas. I re-submitted leaving off the MOD, e-mailed Ted Clutter with the two form numbers, and he had the new application approved inside of 24 hrs.

*BTW I just received my $200 refund a few days ago. Took over 2 months.

If I remember correctly, it was a choice from the drop-down menu. So I wasn't just being stupid.

They cashed my check three days after I mailed it. But it takes two months to get a refund.

Imagine that.

The choices from the drop down are examples of what other people have submitted, not what is correct

Do it quick! I had ATF call me to confirm the model number, and they disproved it with a message indicating the correct model nomenclature they wanted. I resubmitted and was approved in five minutes.

What exactly did you end up doing?  I filed with MODST15 about a week ago, so I'm expecting a similar outcome

He resubmitted with the correct info, paid again, emailed Ted, and now has a approved form...and 60+ days from now he'll get the first $200 back.

Well that sucks ass to know, Mine was submitted on 1/17/15 and I put in just what was stamped on my receiver( not multi cal).  I hope I can resubmit and have it approved like you did. It's not been rejected yet, but I'm sure it will be.

I get what the poster above is saying about the drop down menu, but that's not even remotely clear when filling out the form. Pretty good way to set you up for failure :/

What I thought.

I don't see any chance that sliding by...

When in doubt about anything, I always try to get a 2nd, 3rd + opinion.

You would think if they were this anal about model nomenclature, there would be some sort of reference guide or finite drop down list.  What a cluster to make people do it again for semantics like that

It's real simple. You input exactly what's engraved on the lower, whether you choose it from the dropdown or type it in yourself. That's your reference guide.

I think this thread serves as evidence that you do NOT just put in what's engraved on the lower.  Hence, no "MOD"

MOD is the name/title of the data. It's very clear when you look at the lower.

If it said S/N ABC123, you wouldn't input the S/N.
If it said CAL .223, you wouldn't input the CAL.

It says MOD SL15...so you don't input MOD.  It's simply letting you know what SL15 is.

On the QC10 lower the last engraving line reads: 'GSF 003xx' and it's not prefaced with S/N:

GSF is the model, but is it also part of the serial number?

Mine was approved one way, and others were disapproved for the same format.

ive seen reports of a lot of differences still being approved, like model numbers that may contain a hyphen, omit the hyphen and still be approved etc.
