Has anyone had any experience with this set up? (https://troyind.com/products/pdw-stock-kit-fde) Specifically, has anyone used the Troy kit with a 300blk SBR? Just finished my SPR, now I've gotta do the exact opposite, haha. I've got an idea build in mind that involves a 10.5" barrel and a can. Trying to keep the OAL down to actually get the benefits of an SBR as a 10.5" plus a can winds up being around the carbine length set up of 16". My major concern is the buffer spring being integrated, and not having much control of this aspect of the system.

Take a look at the LWRC ultra compact for $130 also.  They are basically the same size when fully collapsed.

The troy kit knocks ~3 3/4 inches off of the rifles OAL. The LWRC does about 2, the photo being shared around is not a troy locked closed, but a NEA, which doesn't lock closed nor was it collapsed all the way.

To the OP - no - no experience yet - my Troy stocked lower is in Form-1 land, but will be built as a 7.5 5.56 and will later get a 300 BO upper.

Here is a collapsed troy next to a collapsed 6920/MOE:

Good to know., I thought they were basically the same.  Looks very nice as well.  With that said, for 1 3/4 inches, I can save myself $375 and have a better cheek weld when shooting.  Just for picture porn, here is my Noveske 300BLK PDW

+1 on the LWRC UCIW.  Plus you get to buy from a company that supports Americans vs one you supports the jack boots.

Usually I'm pretty good about recognition. But that VFG is needed for my pending SBR. What is it???

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. And there's not a picture in this thread I wouldn't be proud to own, nice work.

I'm another UCIW fan.  I like that it uses the standard BCG.  I've used mine with both Subs and Supers on my 8" blackout upper.  Here is a picture of a standard M4 stock next to a UCIW stock.

UCIW on my 8.2" 300 BLK build.

I tested the NEA stock and didn't care for it. I don't see the troy as being any better with the one that came in the shop.

As another poster pointed out, the fact the UCIW uses a standard BCG is a huge win for me. Not to mention it's a 1/4 of the price...

23.5" OAL when collapsed.

Good man, Woodfords one of my favorite distilleries. Beautiful place if you ever get the chance to visit.

That's my whiskey for mixing in to tea when I'm sick.

I like Blanton's more.

Woodford isn't bad though. I'd love to get down there and check that out some time.

This is the CCS stock set, almost identical to the troy, I also wanted the shortest possible setup. With the 7.5" barrel collapsed is 22.5" extended is 25.5", the only really part I dont care for is you have to slide the 2 halves of the gun together, you can't just tip it on the front pin like usual, but it does come apart by hand, just in thread the tube and you can change it over to a standard buffer tube/bcg set up. I wouldn't call it a ultra comfortable rifle to shoot, but with the taller sights I have on it its not bad at all IMO, I've put 190 RDS threw mine with misc ammo from 45 Gr jhp to 62 Gr green tip, no failures.

Is the 1" worth the extra cost over the other stock and standard bcg? To me yes, but its what's comfortable for you. Hope this helps
