I have an approved, ready to go, 6920 lower awaiting a SBR project. What should I do with it?

I have already have a 10.3" 5.56 (the 6920 was briefly built to match the Form 1 specs with this upper).

9MM SBR?

12.5" 5.56?

300BLK? (I guess I could start reloading)

Whatever it is, it will be suppressed.

Ideas? Go.

Do you ask the internet what to order when you go out to lunch?

If going suppressed, then definitely 9mm or 300 blk.  Between those it depends on what you plan to do with it.  9mm AR is good for HD and cheap target shooting, 300 blk is good for hunting and also HD but in a longer package.  I have both and they are a ton of fun to shoot but the blk costs a good bit more to shoot.

I'd go 9mm if you're going to suppress it

I'm definitely leaning towards 9mm. How hard is it to find inexpensive, quality mags?

I would definitely go with the 300blk.  I shot mine yesterday with 220gr subs and it put a huge smile on my face

Wait on the 9 until you can get a dedicated lower… or that's my preference anyway.  By the time you take the cost of the lower and the cost of the magblock, it's not much more to just get a dedicated lower.  Here are my 300 and my 9:

300 momentum is picking up.  I'll bet that this time next year there will be a lot more ammo choices.  Plus its a given if you hunt.

He explained that in the OP. Put the 10.3" 5.56 upper on it to initially make it to the specs on the F1.  Once that's done, take it off and run whatever you want.

I like this thought process. We may have a winner...

I need to go over to the reloading forum... I have lots of 5.56 brass.

He mentioned in his OP that he got it for his 10.3" 556 upper.

Correct. I Form 1'd two lowers. Both for 10.3" 5.56. Since the both have been "built" to spec, I can now change it up.

Although I do like my 9mm AR, the fact that PSA is about to release Glock mag lowers would cause me to wait on building one now. 300BLK might be my second option...but 6.8 would be first. Love my 12" 6.8 Bison upper.

Put a Sig brace on it,  a really short barrel,  and a VFG,  then troll the hell out of Facebook gun groups.

I wish .22LR were cheaper. This would win.

As much as I love the idea of 300blk, Im still having a hard time thinking about stocking another caliber and finding time to reload.

Thanks for the ideas.

22's are fun in a SBR.  300 BLK just need to stock different powder in most cases.  I reload 223 so I had primers that will work and relaod 308 so I had bullets that work.  Just needed some different pistol powder.

300 BLK FTW with an 8" barrel + your suppressor, Supers for hunting, subs for HD.
Current project of mine is a 7.5" barrel + 7" suppressor = ~14" suppressed weapon.

I've been debating joining the 300 blk club for a little while, looks like this thread changed my mind. Time to go ahead and get the reloading tools.

For very good ballistic performance from an SBR, the 12.5" 6.8 from ARP is hard to beat.  95gr at 2900 FPS is nothing to sneeze at.

For firebreathing cheap fun, the 7.5" 7.62x39 has provided loads of cheap enjoyment, theirs just something fun about 2ft wide fireballs and concussion that rattles your chest.

458 SOCOM. If you're going to fly under 1100 fps, you might as well have a 500+ gr bullet...
