Well?  If I purchase a rifle and want to SBR it, can I?

But the real question is, will it blend...?

All my SBRs were done on a form 1 which means they were just regular lowers I had bought and submitted a form 1

Gracias! I was going to head out to the LGS and peruse the AR's, but they're closed.  I wanted to keep that in mind when purchasing since I see NFA in my future.

It was a joke. I think I've been spending too much time in GD.

As posted, sure you can.  The only possible issue is that you can't build it out as a pistol while you're waiting for your stamp, since it would have been first made as a rifle.

Yeah, i made my SBR from a RRA AR15 lower. You dont have to actual mill the rifle lower yourself.

But do you have to engrave your name or trust or whatever into it ?

Cant just buy a Colt AR for example and register it as a Colt. Right ?

I'd also like to put a 9mm on top. Does it matter if the lower is 5.56 (or 223) ?

Yes, you as the maker, will need to engrave the required information.  Colt would be the manufacturer.  You can put whatever caliber or length of barrel on a registered AR receiver..

It doesn't matter if the lower is marked as a different caliber (like 5.56), as long as the upper/barrel is "conspicuously marked" with its caliber.  You will need to engrave the lower with your name (or your trust/corp/llc's name, if applicable) and the city/state where you'll make the SBR.
