I am looking to get a 9 inch 300blk upper to go deer hunting with, i need to figure out which power optic to use?

I was thinking trijicon accupoint 3x9 but maybe should go 5x20

Which would max out the 300blk range?

I'd never go above a 3-9x for most hunting situations. 2-7x is mo-bettah IMHO.

I'm using a 1 x 4 for hunting with my 9 inch. I think it is enough for subs. I do not plan on shooting more than 100 yards.

I am using a 3x30 ACOG with the blackout reticle on my 10" SBR.  I primarily use it for hog and varmint hunting and probably wont shoot at something with it beyond 200 yards, prefer to keep it shorter than that.

I'd stick with a cqb optic and not try and stretch it's legs beyond 150-200. It's a sbr, not a deer rifle. Eotech has an optic geared for the 300 blk for shooting subsonic and hot rounds closer in. Maybe a viper vortex 1-4.

My 300 blackout with an ACC 762-SDN-6 shooting 220 gr ammo is only slightly louder than my 9mm carbine suppressed(m169).  A full power 300 blackout round had some oomph behind it out of my 10" barrel, which makes it a great cqb gun, less so when you add a bunch of yards to it. Have fun with it. I love mine. m169

I have used compact 3x9
4 power fixed
1-4 power
2-7 power

get a good 1-4 power for an AR15 shorty

I have an Aimpoint (2 MOA) on my 10.5" 300 BLK SBR.  I can hit the vitals of a deer at 100 yards if I put a 2" dot on it.Mine is zeroed at 75 yards.

I have a 2X7 , less than 2 and you might as well use irons. More than 7 and your field of view is too limited.
As far as range, anything that you can take with a .308 you can take with a 300BLK. You just have to be 250 yards closer.

I had no idea that they had an ACOG for 300blk!

What weight bullet and barrel length is the BDC calibrated for?

I think its 16" and 220 and 115s.  But it works fine on my 10" with 220s and 110s.

I love my 300BLK ACOG. It works great with 110gr and 220gr with my 8" barrel.

I use the 3-9x40 accupoint on a 9" suppressed blackout. For hunting, it seems to be the best all around scope for me. 12oz, 9x power and only 12in, good glass, and illuminated for $700.

A 1-4x TR24 works great with this caliber.

I've got a 1-6x optic on mine.  Seems appropriate for the 300 Blackout's strengths and weaknesses.

hard to imagine having anything else but a 1-4x on mine. I bet a 1-6 would be nice for supers over 300 yards.

A few quick thoughts, with the caveat that I am in WI not AZ:

1) It isn't about the magnification it is about light collection.  You are generally shooting whitetail at dusk or dawn around here, so get something with a big objective lens if possible
2) Any hunting inside of 150 yards or so and you don't want to be past 4-5X or you are looking at a black reticle on a grayish brown target with a grayish brown background and you can get lost visually.  Best if you can see the whole animal in your sight picture.  Most shots on whitetail here are under 75 yards so a 3-9X is usually used; 9x for sight-in and 3-4X for hunting.  Everyone has a story about the time they forgot to set the power back down.
3) Use a reticle that isn't visually confusing; I suggest a duplex that you can see in low(ish) light and then set your gun for a +/-2" maximum point blank zero.  Some go +/-4" but I like to keep it tight when I'm making suggestions.

None of this is applicable if you're hunting longer distances and in better lighting.

im using a Nikon P-300 Blackout on mine. 2-7x with BDC out to 300 yards and that seems about perfect for me. i highly doubt i would ever take a shot  out past 300, while hunting, with my blackout. unless its something massive i couldn't pass up

I use a Vortex 3x9 on my 16" version, my SBR just wears a red dot (and I will add a magnifier if I take it hunting)

1-4x but I feel like a 1-6x would be the max.
