Just like it says. I really like my 11/5", but should I feel obligated to go shorter because I took the time to get the form approved? This one will serve the same role as the 11.5", but will be primarily kept as home defense. 10.5" barrels seem to be sparse right now so I am weighing my options.  What have my SBR friends done in the same situation?

Cutting the 11.5" down or adding a 10.5" upper? If adding, sure why not.  If you are going to cut down the 11.5" I say just leave it as is, one inch isn't going to make it much shorter.  But the 11.5" has significantly more dwell time than 10.5"

I went the other way and have 2 11.5" guns and a 12.5" gun.  The inch saved going to a 10.5" just isn't worth the extra blast and loss of dwell time.

If you want to go shorter I would get a 7.5" barrel upper for blasting away for fun.

It will be a complete build, so I will still be keeping the 11.5

I've got an 11.5 and just recently picked up a 12".

Shot 8.5's and 10.5's - to be honest IMO the 11.5 is the shortest I'd go for enjoyable shooting.

Concussion off a 10.5 can be brutal.

I've got an 11.5 BCM and a DD MK18. Both are great to shoot, and I haven't noticed any excessive blast/concussion from the DD. I say find a 10.5.

I've had 3 builds that were 10.5" and the only ttgey sucked to shoot was with a phantom flash hider. Standard A2 and DD hider were fine.

The 2 10.5 I have with A2 hiders are not bad. The uppers are the PSA CHF/FN barrels. I was awaiting the blast of doom but it was mellow, even at the indoor range.

I'd go shorter.  8.5" 300BLK.

I just cant get on the BLK band wagon. Even with the means to reload for it, like the availability of 5.56

I may just go with another 11.5" Not that thats a bad thing.

Had an 11.5 for a long time, but my newest 556 setup is a 12.

Love my 10.3" mk18, great little light weight and reliable rifle.
